It's been really sunny and warm lately and it's going to be getting better over the next few days. My husband is off early tomorrow and has Friday off so we're going to try to plan something nice to do outside, maybe go for a walk on one of our city's walking paths.
I didn't sleep well last night. Baby was kicking me almost all night. I've been feeling really exhausted lately and have been trying to take naps every day. I'm also not quite as hungry as I have been the past few weeks.
I hope everyone is well. My birthmother emailed me the other day and just wanted to let her know that I'll write back within the next few days. I'm not on my computer very much anymore, maybe once or twice a week.
More soon :)
I didn't have the Internet when I was pregnant back in 1991. Back then I wrote letters to my unborn child, who is now 19! Sadly, many of those letters have been lost and I don't think I'll ever get them back. So, I decided that instead of spending all of my online time playing video games, I'd start a pregnancy blog. No more lost letters and I can share my journey with friends and family. So here I am!

30 weeks!
30 weeks exactly today! I can't believe I only have up to 10 weeks left!
We've been pretty busy the past week with taxes and stuff. We finally got our taxes done though so that's good.
This weekend we went to visit my hubby's brother and take him out for a late birthday celebration and an early one for me. We went to see the King Tut exhibit in Toronto today and spent about 5 hours there. My legs and feet are going to regret it tomorrow! We had a good time but I wish there had been more on display from the tomb though it was still exciting to see and I'm really glad we went! Maybe some day we'll head to Egypt and visit the Cairo museum to see the rest :)
I went to the emergency room around 2am Wednesday morning because of a bad migraine that had started Tuesday afternoon. They gave me Tylenol 3s, and and IV for fluids with an anti-nausea medicine drip. I finally left at 7am all better and was able to sleep.
My prenatal appointment last week was good, my BP was around 106/65 and I'd gained 2 pounds. I peeked at my chart and saw that I've gained a total of 6.5 pounds over the past 30 weeks. Not bad! Hubby went to the appointment too and heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time, 136bpm. He liked that. :)
I hope everyone is doing well and I'll try to keep this blog updated more!

Great weekend!
29 weeks, 1 day :)
I had a wonderful surprise over the weekend! One of my husband's brothers had a birthday last week and he was visiting their other brother and his family over the weekend so we went to visit with them. I had no idea there was going to be a surprise baby shower for me and my husband as well! We were completely blown away by all the gifts! A big thank-you to my mother and father in-law as well for their gifts! We are so grateful and blessed and we thank everyone so much. We really never expected anything like what we received. I almost cried as we were leaving because I was so happy and thankful.
My side of the family has been so generous with gifts as well. My mom sent me a beautiful yellow blanket that matches the nursery perfectly! We also went out and finally bought a stroller/car seat combo! It was $100 off the normal price and it was the top-of-the-line stroller combo at the store. Thank you to my mom and dad for their generous gifts as well to help us buy the stroller! We also went to a Carter's/OshKosh store and bought some baby clothes (thanks mom and dad!) as well as Thyme Maternity for me and I bought a few things.
The weather is pretty gloomy today but it should be sunny tomorrow and Wednesday, but not very warm. Everything with my pregnancy is going smoothly. More soon!

Month 7 has started!
28 weeks, 1 day! I'm officially in my third trimester! I've had no problems with my pregnancy, but I'm really starting to notice the change in my body (and emotions). I wake up every time I change positions when sleeping and even my bedtime snacks aren't holding me over till morning anymore. I've had to get up a few times to have some milk or a small snack. I think it's funny that baby will wake me up during the night to tell me to use the bathroom. I guess he really notices when my bladder is full!
Everything else is going good for the most part. It's hard not having my son here. I did some cleaning in his old room the other day and that was tough for me. He took most of his clothes and personal things but the stuff that he left I'll be holding onto and I'll let him know I have it if he wants it. He's a really good artist and I found some of the stuff he's drawn. I'd love to get some of it framed. I'm not sure if he reads this blog but just in case he does, I want to tell him I love him and miss him and hope he's doing well :)
Our electric company installed a Smart Meter this morning. They haven't implemented the billing for it yet but I think it'll be great for us. Looks like I'll be doing most of my chores in the early and late hours during the week, or all day weekends during off-peak hours. Our electric bill has been crazy this winter!
There might be some rain this afternoon but most of the week should be sunny and warm, yay!
I hope everyone is well!

Rain today
No blue sky for me today, just rain. And rain all weekend. We're supposed to have sun next week though so I'll look forward to that.
My son has used up his last chance with us. It makes me sad but I'd prepared myself in case this happened so my emotions are staying in check. For now anyway.
I'm glad it's friday!

Another Beautiful Day

We're having another gorgeous day here. It's supposed to rain starting late tonight and continue to Monday but then sun again next week. I've been taking our cat out onto our back patio every day so she can explore and take in all the smells. She's strictly indoor so we put a harness and leash on her when we go out.
Here's a picture of her from about a year ago. I love the look on her face, you can tell she's not used to being outside!
My prenatal appointment yesterday was good. Baby's heartbeat is 130bmp and my BP was around 116/80. A bit high for me but I'd just finished having my once-a-day cup of caffeine.
I'd also gained 2 pounds. I'm a bit upset by that but my doctor said it was fine. She'd like me to gain no more than a pound a week. I have to admit that I've been eating bagels quite often which are full of carbs, calories and fat. A few a week are fine, but they've turned into my breakfast, snacks and afternoon meals. I'm going to go back to my cottage cheese and fruit for snacks/small meals. I've also started having a glass or two of 1% milk before bed along with a cereal bar. I really think I need a snack before bed or I'll wake up every few hours hungry, which I did do this morning around 4am. I had to get up and have another glass of milk.
I'm wearing carpal tunnel splints on both wrists now when I sleep. It's a bit uncomfortable but much better than waking up with pain and numbness in my arms and hands. I've also noticed that my ankles have been swelling up a bit. My socks have been leaving indentations in my skin around my ankles which they never did before. Time to drink more water!
My birth mother's sister wrote to me the other day, that was nice! I just want to say hello to her and to my birth mother. I promise to write soon! I am so happy to be in touch with both of you!!
That's all for now!

My perennials are sprouting!
27 weeks, 2 days! I'm in the last week of my second trimester, yay!
I can't get over how beautiful the weather has been lately. I was able to go out yesterday without a sweater which I haven't done since September. I was on our back patio just a bit ago taking in some sun and I noticed my sedum matrona is sprouting! The flowers won't bloom until late summer/early fall but just the fact that they survived a second winter makes me happy! I also bought an Autumn Fire sedum last year when we moved into this house and it's sprouting too. My mums should start growing too but they won't bloom either till fall. I think I'll add some annuals to my garden as soon as the cold nights are over. I don't want to wait until fall to have color!
Everything else is going well. My son is doing well. I've been trying to encourage him to look for a job or get his required volunteer service done. He's been a little slow doing those though. Hopefully things will pick up.
My pregnancy is going fine too. I wake up numerous times during the night just trying to get comfortable and dealing with an overactive baby so I haven't been getting too much sleep lately. I'm a zombie by mid-afternoon but that's when I seem to have too many things to do instead of sleep. I need to try to get some sleep in earlier but it's hard when I'm not sleepy!
Prenatal appointment tomorrow, I'm curious to see if I've gained or lost weight!
More later!

Is it spring yet?
26 weeks, 5 days!
The weather has been wonderful the past week or so. All the snow is starting to melt and I'm getting the urge to start gardening!
Hubby and I had our first prenatal class last night and it went well. I'm so not used to being around other adults (I don't get out much, haha!) so it was a nice change :) I'm hoping over the next few weeks to maybe befriend some of the other couples but we'll see. I'm pretty introverted!
My son signed up for the Reconnect program the yesterday. He attends class at Covent Garden Market here in town once a week then he'll start going to Wheable in May. So far so good, I really hope he keeps it up!
That's it for now!

My son is home
My son came home last night after being gone for a week. No arguments or yelling or pointing fingers, just talking. I love my son more than anything and I want him to succeed in life and am willing to support him in (almost) anything he decides. He's decided that he wants to attend what is called the Reconnect program. We're going to go to his high school today and unenroll him and then head over to the Reconnect office and talk to them about his options. I also suggested looking into getting his GED. I'm sad that he won't be graduating high school the "normal" way, but that's my own personal issue. I can't force anything on him and the dreams I had/have for him are just that, MY dreams, not necessarily his.
He is also aware that this chance we're giving him to get back on track is the last chance we will be offering him. If he fails to complete the Reconnect program or not go for his GED, then he will have to move out and depend on himself. We have given him so many opportunities and he's not taken them seriously. He needs to do that now.
Everything else is good. I'm still stressed about all this stuff and I don't really need that right now.
My birthmother and I are still writing and I'm happy about that :) We write to each other maybe once a week or so. She reads this blog so I want to say hi to her! *wave*

He's gonna be an athlete!
26 weeks, 1 day! Two more weeks and I'll be in my 7th month!
Baby is so active and it's almost always at night. I usually try to lay in bed and read a book for 20 minutes or so before going to sleep, but sleep hasn't been coming right away. He also wakes me up at random times during the night practicing his kicks and punches. The only way to get him to be still is for me to get up and walk around. My husband is the type of guy that always has to be moving; if he's sitting down, he moves his feet, if his feet aren't moving, his hands are moving. I think our little one takes after him!
I had some Braxton Hicks contractions the other night. I remembered having them with my first child so I wasn't too alarmed, though I did get out my pregnancy book just to read up on them while they were happening. I had 2 about 5 minutes apart. No pain, just a tightening feeling in my abdomen.
My son is still MIA. Friends of his that I know have talked to him so I know he's alright and still here in town. I just wish he'd call or come home.
I watched the end of the hockey game yesterday. GO CANADA! I'm American but I was cheering for Canada and have been for the all of the winter games. :)
