Everything is good

My hospital visit went well. Nathan is doing just fine. The doctors did an ultrasound and checked my amniotic fluid level and it was fine. His heart rate was good too. Quite a scare for a while there but I'm glad everything is fine!

Oh, and I lost 2 pounds, yay! I have gained a total of 7 pounds during my whole pregnancy.

More later!

Off to the hospital for a Biophysical Profile - Hope things go well!

Just got back from my family doctor. She's sending me to the hospital to get a BPP done. She was unable to get a good tracing for baby's heart rate.

Over the past few days I've noticed a big change in my pregnancy such as pain in my pelvic area (sometimes severe), redness in my arms and legs, backache and sciatica, a lot of Braxton Hicks. It feels like little Nathan will fall out sometimes and it's a bit scary! Over the past weeks/months I've felt Nathan drop but then move back up but he's been pressing on my pelvic area for two days now. Sometimes it's very hard to walk and I've been unable to sleep much for a few days. Surprisingly though, my arms did not hurt one bit last night and aren't hurting today at all. My hands are numb and weak still, but no pain which is great.

I'll post more when I get home, or if I can talk my husband into posting for me, I'll do that :)

Some good news :)

Lost Cat

My husband noticed the "Lost Cat" signs on our street the other day and today, I helped find Boofer! I found him sleeping in our planter box in our backyard earlier this afternoon. He ran off when I went outside (constantly talking nicely and saying his name) so I immediately called the number on the flyers. His owner lives in the same townhouse complex as I do so she came by. She found him under our deck! I was so happy to see him home safely! Yay Boofer :)

Well, we had a feeling this was coming...

The other day I posted that things have been stressful... Here's the story.

My husband has worked for TVWorks for over 5 years. We found out about this just yesterday. We've got a lot on our minds at the moment so this post will be short but I'll post more soon.

I saw my teenage son today and had a great time as usual with him :)

More later.

P.S. Baby Nathan is fine, so active I can barely sleep sometimes!

Where was animal control?

So this morning I heard on my local radio station that there was a black bear spotted in town. I've been following the story since and a few hours ago I came across this article from our local paper and I have to admit I am a bit upset.

I guess it was cheaper to kill the wounded bear than to tranquilize it, fix its wounds, then move it to the country or to a wildlife sanctuary. And those pictures of the officer with the bear, ugh, it makes me so upset to see him posing with the dead bear as if it is a trophy.

Time to call city hall.

UPDATE: MNR contacted and opinion left!

Interesting Day

Hello to all! Sorry it's been a while. I'll be posting more either later today or tomorrow. Things here have been a little stressful but I'll share more about that later. Me, hubby and baby Nathan are doing fine :)

More soon!

It's Friday!

I haven't done any laundry all week and am completely out of clean clothes! I had plans to go out today and do some shopping but that's on hold till the wash is done. That's fine though, I shouldn't be spending money anyway ;)

Nathan has been pretty calm the last day or so. I can feel him move but he's not kicking or punching which is nice. His foot is still up near my ribs and he likes to flex his legs often which is very uncomfortable. He dropped down low into my pelvis last night for a bit (which he does quite often) and it hurt more than usual. I call it "yo-yo-ing" when trying to explain it to my husband.

My arms haven't been hurting too much when sleeping, but I can't be on the computer for too long or they start to hurt. I did get up about 5 times last night to use the bathroom.

Everything else is going well. I still need to get some pictures posted of the nursery and the ones I took of my teenage son and I will definitely try to do that soon.

Hope everyone is good!

Another busy, but great day!

I got to spend a few hours with my teenage son today and it made me very happy! We went out and got his long hair cut and I'm going to post a before-and-after picture here later. He is such a handsome young man! He looks way better with short hair ;)

I'll post more about our day later but I need to take a few hours to relax and put my feet up. Hope all is well with everyone!

Good News About Baby

What a long day! Lots of news though. My eye doctor appointment went well. My vision has changed since my last visit but the doctor said it could be from the pregnancy and suggested I not change my prescription glasses at this time.

Good baby news too! I had my ultrasound and baby looks great! My fundal height should be around 33cm but I'm measuring 34.5. The technician measured baby's head, spine and limbs and according to those figures, he weighs approximately 5.5lbs. My OB said that if I can make it to 39 weeks, it's estimated he'll be around 8.5lbs! My placenta is at the top of my uterus which is good.

We got some great pictures and I'll definitely scan them and post them here in the next day or so!

My BP was 115/81 and my weight was about the same as last time.

Pictures up soon!

So Many Appointments!

33 weeks, 2 days!

I have so many appointments today! Eye doctor in about an hour, lunch with hubby, ultrasound at 2:00, then OB appointment after that. And I have to find time to get to the store to buy a few things that I forgot to pick up yesterday. By the time I get home it'll probably be time to go pick my husband up from work!

I might get to see my teen son tomorrow and I'm really happy about that. I really do miss his presence, seeing him and hearing his voice. I even miss his morning grumpiness! I told him I'd take him out to lunch sometime, maybe we'll do that tomorrow if I get to see him. Our cat sleeps in his old room, proof that she misses him even though they don't get along when they're together :)

I actually slept pretty darn good last night! I only got up twice to use the bathroom! My arms hardly hurt and the only time I woke up was when I had to change positions but even then I was only awake for a minute or two. But I'm still tired, so maybe an early bedtime tonight.

Hope everyone is well and I'll post more about my ultrasound and OB appointment later today or tomorrow!

33 weeks!

33 weeks, 1 day!

Things are going okay here. I've been able to sleep a little better lately, except for the multiple bathroom trips, but the carpal tunnel has been better at night. I've been having a lot of swelling of my feet lately so I'm trying to drink more water during the day and that seems to help. I had to buy a new pair of shoes yesterday that are a whole size bigger than I usually wear. It's impossible now for me to tie my own shoes so I had to get some casual slip-ons.

Little Nathan has been pretty mellow lately. He's running out of room so his movements are more like jabs than the ripple-like rolling feelings I'm used to. He kicks me (and is kicking me even now!) up near my ribs. I've just had my once-a-day coffee though so he's probably reacting to the caffeine! His sleeping schedule is about the same though. He's usually awake just as I'm trying to go to sleep and he's awake early in the morning around 6 or 7am.

My doctor appointment last week was fine. I've gained 2 pounds. My blood pressure was still very low, 97/63. I expressed (again!) my frustration with my carpal tunnel and there's really nothing else I can do. Just wear my wrist splints and take tylenol when I need to.

My sister-in-law gave me some nice scrapbooking papers and decorations so I need to go out and get a book to put together. I'll have hubby take some pictures of my belly and I'll post them here, along with all the other pictures that I've been wanting to post! We finally have just about everything we need for Nathan's arrival so the nursery is looking more like a nursery. I'll take pictures of that too!

Sunny but cool weather this week, time to plant some more flowers!

Hope everyone is well!

Healthy Heart and Zengaku

I just got back from my fetal echo ultrasound and baby's heart looks good! I was very surprised that the radiologist was able to look at the pictures the technician took as soon as we were done and give me the results so fast! The technician seemed to have quite a time trying to get the little one to cooperate. Baby was unusually active this morning and I kept being told to turn from one side to the other to get baby to move so the tech could get a view of his heart. I also got to hear the heartbeat numerous times and it sounded wonderful! :) I go see my family doctor in 2 hours so I might try to get a nap in before that since baby has finally fallen asleep.

My husband's team's iPhone/iPod Touch app has been reviewed on appSafari! They're going to distributing a free version soon and I'll post when that is up but in the meantime, take a look at the review!

Fetal Echo Ultrasound

32 weeks, 2 days :)

Things are going okay. My arms are really bothering me still and I have to admit that this CTS is the only thing that I am disliking about this pregnancy. Everything else has been great but the pain prevents me from sleeping and that in turn makes me very grumpy and depressed. My husband has been so helpful and supportive but I feel so bad that he has to deal with my crying and irritability because of the pain/lack of sleep. I'd cross my fingers that it'll go away once I have the baby but my hands are too stiff, haha ;)

My OB's office called yesterday and asked me to go in tomorrow morning for a Fetal Echo ultrasound. She said that it was just to check on the baby's heart due to my SUA. Then after that appointment I have another with my original doctor. It's nice that I have two doctors for this pregnancy! And it's nice that I see them on alternating weeks. It's reassuring and I get to hear the baby's heartbeat every week :)

So a busy day tomorrow for me. My ultrasound is at 8:00am and I have to be there at 7:40 so I really hope I can get some sleep tonight!

A bit "thank you" to my sister-in-law for stopping by the other day and donating her body pillow to me (I love it!) and "Happy Birthday" going out to two of my best friends, Niki and Carol! I've always thought it was interesting that both of my best friends have the same birthday! :)

Also, since I'm not doing well with emails, thank you to my birthmother for her email to me for my birthday :) I'll write when I can!

8 Months Today!

I've made it to my 32nd week, I'm officially 8 months pregnant, yay!

I haven't written lately due to my carpal tunnel syndrome. It's been extremely painful the past week and I haven't had much sleep at all. My wrist splints aren't helping anymore and the pain has begun to radiate up my arms to my shoulder blades. I have an appointment with my regular doctor Wednesday so I'll mention it to her but there's really not much she can do as far as pain medication goes. We'll see.

Everything else is going well. My clogged milk duct issue has resolved itself so no more pain there which makes me happy! :)

I hope everyone is well. I'll send out some emails this week!

It's my birthday!

I'm another year older today! I have no idea what being 39 should feel like but I definitely don't feel like I'm this close to 40. I feel young still and I guess that's what's important :)

Husband and I met our obstetrician today and she's really nice! According to the scale at the OB's office, I've lost 7 pounds. I don't think that's possible but heck, I'm not going to complain. Also my BP was 97/61 which is a lot lower than I thought it would be. I was actually thinking that it was going to be much higher than usual.

Last week I was getting some pain in my breasts along the sides near my underarms and there was some swelling and lumps there. The pain eventually went away but it returned on the left side the other night. I barely slept last night due to the pain. I had to sleep in a spare bedroom so that my husband could get some sleep. I put on my heating pad and tried to get some rest but only think I got about 3 hours of sleep. Turns out that my milk ducts are clogged up. The OB told me to keep heat on it (shower or heating pad) and to massage the lump. Massaging the lumps hurt like heck, but I'll give it a try. Anything to help me sleep!

I can finally see my stomach move when baby moves and kicks. He likes to kick me up near my ribs on the right side under my breast. When we were at the doctor today she was able to tell me his position and yup, those are his feet kicking me. The small flutters I feel in my lower abdomen are his hands and arms. She listened to the baby's heart and said "that's a happy baby". :)

I go back for an ultrasound on the 20th and another appointment with the OB that day too after the u/s. My next appointment with my regular doctor is on the 14th. I'll be seeing my OB every 2 weeks up until my 38th week then weekly after that.

That's it for now. I'm going to pick up my husband from work soon then we're off to get some birthday ice cream at Baskin Robbins. :)

Big storm coming!

I was about to head out to the store here soon but my husband just called to tell me that a big storm is headed our way.

From the Weather Network:

"A cluster of strong thunderstorms is moving quickly eastward from Michigan into Southwestern Ontario. The main threat with these storms is large hail, as the strongest have had a history of producing hail up 4 cm (1.5") in diameter. Strong wind gusts are a lesser threat. This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements. If threatening weather approaches take immediate safety precautions."

I think my shopping can wait until another time. I'll post updates!

Update: 2:00pm EST - The rain, thunder and lightning have started and there's a possible tornado warning! I'm going to try to record some video with my camera. I'll post a link if I'm able to get something.

2:55pm EST - The storm has passed. No hail or tornadoes. I can go out and do my shopping now!

Baby Name Update

Forgot to mention that we've decided on Nathan James for the baby's name!

It's been a while!

31 weeks 2 days! I'm in the last week of my 7th month!

Apologies for not keeping my blog updated! We've been busy with spring cleaning the past week or so but things are just about done. I hope everyone had a good Easter.

I've been having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions lately. They were coming so often last night that I actually had to stop and watch the clock to time them. They stopped after I drank a few glasses of water before bed, though I was up 5 times during the night using the bathroom after that!

My carpal tunnel is getting worse too and now I catch myself having to wear my wrist splints on and off during my waking hours. I went out to do some shopping the other day and had to come home almost immediately because my arms hurt too much to drive. I also experienced some pretty bad swelling in my hands and feet last Thursday. I'm sad because I had to take off my wedding rings and put them away till after the pregnancy. My hands seem to always be slightly swollen and the rings are just too tight.

Baby has been active though his movements aren't as jabbing as they used to be. They're more of a rolling feeling and still some fluttering down low in my abdomen. Occasionally he'll kick me up near my ribs and that's a bit uncomfortable, but I still love feeling him :)

I finally get to meet my obstetrician tomorrow morning. I've been waiting for this appointment for months, literally, and am excited! I really want another ultrasound just to check the baby and make sure he's doing well.

Everything else is going well. My other son is doing fine. He called us on Easter to wish us a happy holiday which I thought was sweet. He's still not doing much in the way of looking for work or going to school from what he told me. I'm sad about that, but he's an adult now and can do what he wants, and I'm sad about that too, haha :)

I hope everyone is doing good. We've moved our computers up from the basement so I'm hoping having easier access to my computer will help me keep this blog updated. We'll see.

Happy Spring!
