So this morning I heard on my local radio station that there was a black bear spotted in town. I've been following the story since and a few hours ago I came across this article from our local paper and I have to admit I am a bit upset.
I guess it was cheaper to kill the wounded bear than to tranquilize it, fix its wounds, then move it to the country or to a wildlife sanctuary. And those pictures of the officer with the bear, ugh, it makes me so upset to see him posing with the dead bear as if it is a trophy.
Time to call city hall.
UPDATE: MNR contacted and opinion left!
I can't help but feel bad for the bear. He was probably looking for food. I agree, they should have tranquilized it and tried to move it back to the wild.
